A MODERN HOUSE

A MODERN HOUSE resembles an abstract game with the inside and the outside, with the personal and the communal and the exchange about it with one's own body language and its architecture of the physical, which has been shaped by one's own life.
Thus, the piece does not remain the same in this play either, as it is enriched anew by each city it travels through and inscribes its life into itself, in which eight local amateurs with and without a dance background, from all age groups and with very different life backgrounds, are each get integrated into A MODERN HOUSE by Diego Tortelli and his dancer in a completely new way.
Like a wanderer through his own psychological house as well as through the urban architecture, the solo dancer confronts the new group in order to re-initiate the human exchange as in a game of dominoes.
Tortelli allows traces of memory inscribed in the body to come to light in the form of choreography: sometimes brokenly beautiful, as if marked by life, sometimes introverted, reflecting themselves, and then together as a ritual group including a bursting core. We are all the soloist and we are all the group and thus recognize ourselves in A MODERN HOUSE.
